Golf Australia Express : OTG Express 133
C ALLAWAY engineers have taken the face cup technology that’s redefined ball speed in its fairway woods and brought it to its new XR irons – the company’s first high-speed, cavity back cup-faced iron. The improved ‘Cup 360’ acts like a spring to increase ball speeds on shots hit low on the face, as well as every other impact location. Callaway’s ‘Internal Standing Wave’ design has refined the way the centre of gravity (CG) is lowered, increased the moment of inertia (MOI) and gives the face cup the freedom to flex for more ball speed. The XR irons also feature a two- piece construction that includes a dual heat treatment – a precise, meticulous craftsmanship that brings an exceptional level of refinement to the design process. The XR Pro irons features a refined iron shape preferred by better players. OTG Available February; RRP: $1,199 (8-piece set, steel); $1,299 (graphite); callawaygolf.com HIGH SPEED WEAPONRY CALLAWAY XR & XR PRO IRONS the GEAR “OF ALL THE HAZARDS, FEAR IS THE WORST.” Sam Snead CHAMPIONS OF YOUR GAME.
