DPS ADVERT THERE was Former US Open Champion Michael Campbell has announced he is retiring from tournament golf to become more hands-on in running his Spain-based golf academy. The 46-year-old Kiwi, who won the 2005 Open at Pinehurst beating Tiger Woods by three strokes, told New Zealand’s Radio Sport retirement was a difficult decision but he “has no complaints to walk away from the game that has given me such a wonderful life.” He hopes to play senior tournaments when he becomes eligible in four years’ time, he added. ‘Cambo’ was the second New Zealander to win a major after Bob Charles, who won the 1963 British Open.
