It is truly one of the world’s best par-3s and a hole at which a par should be celebrated...loudly. Arguably the prettiest hole at Barwon Heads, it’s also one of the hardest to master, and is worth the trip to the Bellarine on its own. So many of the world’s most famous courses have a closing hole that heads back up towards an impressive clubhouse, and Barwon Heads is no exception. At just 346m, the finishing hole here is not going to hurt you for length or difficulty. Instead it offers an eye-pleasing, relatively friendly conclusion to your round after a tough stretch of holes, with its old world clubhouse – now heritage listed by Heritage Victoria — watching over you at the large 18th green. A classic end to a round at a genuinely classic course. There are some golf courses in Australia that are – simply put – ‘must play’ tracks. Barwon Heads Golf Club is undoubtedly one of them. The experience here is unique in Australia, the challenge overly enjoyable and the course condition seems always to be first class. You’ll talk about its old world charm, its superb layout and general splendor for years to come. But just a heads up, don’t let the immense beauty of the course deceive you. OTG FACT FILE THE 18TH HOLE OFFERS A MAGICAL FINISH, SHADOWED BY THE OLD WORLD CLUBHOUSE.
