Sunday proved a bridge too far for the Queenslander but his gallant effort was as phenomenal as it was gutsy. T-2 2015 PGA CHAMPIONSHIP T-9 2015 OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP ANOTHER major, another 54-hole co-lead for Day (this year’s PGA marked three major leads in a row). In a congested tussle over the Old Course at St Andrews, Day faced a 25-foot birdie putt on the home green in the final round to book a place in the playoff but left his attempt agonisingly short to miss out by a stroke. T-4 WINNER
