It got worse and worse so I had cortisone injections they would work for four or five weeks and then they’d wear off,” Fraser said. “The next step was to go in and remove the bone and fix the tendonitis as well. It was fairly drawn out, it was probably a good six or seven months where I played with it but it got to the point where I had to sort it out.” “They removed part of the bone out of the top of my hand. That was pretty straightforward, it was just more the tendonitis after that when I started practising again.” Tendonitis again became an issue for Fraser late last year, but this time his knee was the culprit, and he was referred to Dr Ruben Branson at Sportsmed Biologic for a series of six treatments. “I saw Ruben last year about my knee, I had tendonitis in the patella tendon, so I had a course of the Orthokine injections and that cleared it up pretty well,” Fraser said. “I had the PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injections in it before that and they didn’t work, so I saw Ruben and the Orthokine worked pretty quickly.” Dr Branson said the importance of achieving timely treatment results was of paramount importance for every patient, but particularly for professional sportsmen like Fraser, as time on the sidelines costs them dearly, both in rankings points and earning potential. WHILE HE CAN JOKE ABOUT HIS FITNESS NOWADAYS, INJURIES NEARLY ENDED MARCUS FRASER'S PROFESSIONAL CAREER.
