BILLMURRAY THE first celebrity penciled into the Pebble Beach lineup every year. Murray is a part of the furniture at the pro-am, but backs it up on the course, where he has one of the lowest handicaps in Hollywood, usually hovering below 10. The popular actor seemingly spends most of his time mucking around out, which almost earned him a ban from the event in 1994 when the commissioner didn’t take too kindly to his constant antics. He returned, of course, and became one of the very few celebrities to win the event when he saluted in 2011 with D.A. Points. CONDOLEEZZARICE FORMER US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has been a fixture at Pebble Beach over the past few years. She’s pretty handy, too, playing off about 17, which isn’t bad considering she only picked up the sticks in the mid to late 2000s. Rice arrived with a bang in more ways than one at her first Pebble Beach Pro-Am in 2013, when she clocked a female spectator in the head, drawing blood from the innocent bystander. ANDYGARCIA GARCIA isn’t just there as Hollywood royalty. The man can play. He set the tournament’s low-score record with Paul Stankowski in 1997 when the pair finished at 43-under (with scores of 62, 58, 67 and 58), of which Garcia contributed 18 strokes. Garcia said he wasn’t immune to the questioning that always accompanies a handicap victory, and copped plenty after blowing the field away that year. Strangely enough, the pair didn’t make the cut again at the event until 2006. JUSTINTIMBERLAKE GIVEN he has almost 18 million more Twitter followers than world No.1 Jordan Spieth, Justin Timberlake’s return to Pebble Beach this year adds some much needed star power. The singer-turned- actor played here in 2006 and 2009 and isn’t mucking around this time, having talked world No.7 Justin Rose into playing alongside him.
