Golf Australia Express : GA Express 215
I F MCILROY wins a major in 2017, that leaves three for the rest of the PGA Tour field, and Jason Day will snare at least one of them. Day’s putting was statistically better than any other player in the past decade, and after a break to allow his bung back to heal, he’ll be right in the frame for a second major title. A BIG DAY FOR DAY I T’S BEEN more than six years since Kevin Chappell’s last professional victory, not that he probably cares. Most players would gladly not win, if it means snagging seven top 10 finishes in a season, including three second-places, and collecting $4.5 million in prizemoney. After finishing T2 at the Tour Championship, Chappell is at a career high ranking of 27, is clearly primed to win, and will do so at least once this season. GOING TO THE CHAPPELL
