Golf Australia Express : GA Express 215
T HE name “Johnson” was a regular fixture at the top of PGA Tour leaderboards this year, but sadly for one usually ultra- consistent veteran, it wasn’t preceded by “Zach”. Zach Johnson had won at least once in nine of the last 10 years, including each of the last four. But 2016 was disappointing by his standards, with no wins and not even a top-three finish to improve his mood. We’d be stunned if Johnson didn’t fire back in a big way in 2017. Pencil him in for a win. JOHNSON TO HIT BACK J ASON Day’s 20-under total in winning the 2015 PGA Championship equaled the lowest ever major score. But with the PGA Championship making its way to Quail Hollow this year, that record could be in danger. Rory McIlroy holds the record at the North Carolina course, having finished at 21-under at the 2015 Wells Fargo Championship. With every top player in attendance for the PGA, there’s a good chance we’ll see that record tumble. RECORD MAJOR SCORE?
