Golf Australia Express : GA Express 219
T WO new sets of irons from Cobra Golf become available from next Tuesday. Known for its innovation and technology, Cobra says its latest releases are the company’s most ground-breaking and versatile iron family yet. The 2017 offering is headlined by the KING F7, which builds upon the popular King F6 model. King F7 irons incorporate Cobra’s patented TecFlo technology to deliver a set that utilises advanced cavity construction to optimise the performance characteristics of each iron. A new PWRShell face introduces a thinner face and sole structure that increases the Sweet Zone and delivers distance, precision and forgiveness. A full hollow design with PWRShell face insert in the long irons (3-5) delivers low centre of gravity (CG) with an extremely responsive face for easier-to-hit, high-flying long irons. In the mid irons (6 and 7), a half hollow design combined with PWRShell technology delivers optimal CG for more precise, easy-to-hit clubs. The scoring irons (8-iron to pitching wedge) utilise a traditional cavity back design with wedge-spaced grooves for added spin and more control. Also within the Cobra Golf 2017 iron family are the new KING FORGED TOUR irons that offer Tour-proven performance, feel and precise shot-making. The King Forged Tour, which use a five-step forging process, are designed employing high-density tungsten weights that are strategically positioned on the sole of the clubhead for a lowered and centred CG that delivers the ideal blend of forgiveness and precision. A TPU insert located behind the hitting zone dampens vibrations and improves feel while CNC-milled faces and grooves improve the structure and maximise spin and trajectory control. E SPECIFICATIONS: The King F7 is available in 3-iron to sand wedge in right-handed and 4-iron to sand wedge in left-handed. Sets are offered with Lamkin REL-Black grips and with either a Fujikura Pro 63i (graphite – stiff, regular, lite) or True Temper King F7 (steel – stiff and regular) shaft option. The King Forged Tour, which is available in right-hand only, offer a standard stock set composition of 4-iron to pitching wedge (3-iron and gap wedge are available in custom) steel stiff/regular flexes. They are offered stock with Lamkin Crossline Black grips and KBS Tour FLT steel shafts. thegear KINGPIN COBRA KING F7 & KING FORGED TOUR IRONS Available November 15; RRP: $149 each in steel/$169 each in graphite (F7), $199 each (Forged Tour); cobragolf.com
