Golf Australia Express : GA Express 227
SAXOPHONIST superstar Kenny G might not be the biggest name at Pebble Beach, but he’s arguably the best celeb player in the field whenever he’s there. He was once off scratch and in more recent years his handicap has hovered around the low single digits, giving him a very good chance of victory if his pro partner shows up in form. H OLLYWOOD star KEVIN COSTNER’s best movie- making days – which included golf classic Tin Cup – are well and truly behind him, but that doesn’t stop him earning the occasional invite to Pebble Beach, where his name still garners plenty of interest and attention. The 62-year-old hasn’t played the event for a few years, but is probably second only to Murray for crowd size when he does make the trip. B EFORE he became President of the USA, THE DONALD was often sighted at Pebble Beach. And his performances there may go some way to answering the questions surrounding the accuracy of his claims he plays off a handicap of three. In seven appearances at Pebble – first in 1993 and most recently in 2006 – Trump and his playing partner are yet to make the cut. He’d certainly pull a crowd if he ever decided to make Pebble Beach great again. DONALD TRUMP KEVIN COSTNER KENNY G
