JUSTIN ROSE AGE: 36 COUNTRY: England WORLD RANKING: 11 WHY HE CAN WIN: MASTERS runner-up Justin Rose appeared to have his second career major title all but sewn up on the back-nine of the year’s first major. While the disappointment will still linger, Rose has been around long enough to take the positives from the result and will be raring to go. One of the most consistent ball-strikers in the world, the Englishman will find plenty of fairways and raised greens at Erin Hills – just as he did on the way to victory at Merion in 2013. Rose hasn’t missed a cut anywhere in the world since the US Open last year and has finished worse than 40th on only three occasions in the same period, making him one of the form players in the world. Garcia did more to win the Masters than Rose did to lose it, so the uber-consistent Englishman should be brimming with confidence when he steps on the first tee on Thursday. KEY STAT: Ranked 14th in Strokes Gained: Tee- To-Green on the PGA Tour.
