A FTER coming agonisingly close at the 2015 Open Championship, Jason Day bounced back to win the Canadian Open in his next start. The impressive comeback from disappointment from one of the world’s best with extremely high standards was almost to be expected. Receiving a stuffed animal named ‘Justin Beaver’ for winning the tournament was not. Canada, ay? JUSTIN BEAVER? L IKE many other tournaments, the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented each winner with a sports jacket for the trophy presentation. In 2017, the first year without Palmer, the tradition changed to present the winner with one of The King’s trademark cardigans. While the sentiment was there, the fit wasn’t for the inaugural cardigan recipient, Australian Marc Leishman, whose large frame was done no favours by the red garment. FASHIONABLE VICTORY 6 7
