The 25-year-old’s Honma TW727 hybrid was preceded by a Callaway Apex hybrid which followed a TaylorMade M2 3-iron. • Matsuyama made one other significant change in his 100th PGA Tour start, replacing his Scotty Cameron GSS Newport 2 Timeless putter with TaylorMade’s TP Collection Mullen. Unlike the retail model of the mallet, Matsuyama’s putter has a single-bend shaft and it helped him rank 15th in Strokes Gained Putting. HIDEKI MATSUYAMA “I WAS ABLE TO CONTROL MY EMOTIONS, I FELT CALM, PEACEFUL... I THINK THAT WAS ONE OF THE MAJOR REASONS WHY I WAS SUCCESSFUL THIS WEEK.”
