TOUR TIP PUTTING SPEED IS CRUCIAL THEkey to holing putts is to get the right combination of speed and starting line. Obviously there is more than one way to make putts ... you can use different variations of speed and starting line to get a ball into a hole. For example, you can hit the putt firmer with less break, or slower with more break. Bearing this in mind, many great putters, like Jordan Spieth, believe that concentrating on getting the speed of your putts right, rather than focusing on your stroke, is the key to making more putts. “I always remember Ben Crenshaw telling me how crucial it is to work on my speed on the greens,” Spieth said. “Putting with him was very special and he stressed not to worry about my stroke, but focus on the speed. That’s good advice.” E VIDEO: JORDAN SPIETH'S FAVOURITE PUTTING DRILL
