TOUR TIP VIDEO: PHIL MICKELSON REVEALS HIS SHOT-SHAPING TECHNIQUE SHOT-SHAPING MADE EASY HITTING fades and draws like the pros may seem complicated but it doesn't have to be. In fact, it's far more difficult for you to hit the ball dead straight than it is to shape your shots, either from the tee or into a green. Phil Mickelson rarely hits the ball straight and this no slight on him whatsoever. He just chooses to hit fades and draws and will do so at will depending on the shape or the hole or the pin position on a green, relative to his position in the fairway. The key for hitting any shot shape is the relationship between the alignment of your body and the direction of the clubface. There is very little change required in your swing. Watch the video below to get a full rundown on how to hit fades and draws, courtesy of MIckelson. E
