COVER STORY BUBBA WATSON VS. PAT PEREZ Get your stopwatches out, because there would be no slow play issues should two of the quickest players on Tour be paired together. Both Watson and Perez have the unique ability to play with a high level of emotion and combine that with a no-nonsense approach, which generally makes them a joy to watch. A quick game’s a good game, and this pairing could set a new land speed record. IAN POULTER VS. PATRICK REED Two Ryder Cup stars going head-to-head is always a thrilling prospect to ponder, especially if it were to be Ian “Mr. Ryder Cup” Poulter versus Patrick “Captain America” Reed. Poulter, who won this event in 2010, holds one of the best singles match play records in the world, and has only lost on five occasions from 57 matches. Reed, meanwhile, has only lost two singles matches from his 20 and seems to excel under pressure in this format – as seen during his exhilarating 2016 Ryder Cup match against Rory McIlroy. This match would be charged with emotion and would likely go right down to the wire. HAOTONG LI VS. TYRRELL HATTON Unlike other players in the field, Haotong Li and Tyrrell Hatton are two players who like to wear their hearts on their sleeves. China’s Li is either smiling and laughing or throwing his putter into a lake, while England’s Hatton is just as capable of throwing the toys out of the cot. Tantrums aside, both Li and Hatton are quality players on the rise and make for good viewing.
