Golf Australia Express : GA Express 279
COVER STORY JASON DAY VS. MARC LEISHMAN Here’s a pairing we wouldn’t like to see – and for obvious reasons. Day and Leishman are the strongest of the Aussie hopefuls, and this match would instantly reduce the odds of an Australian victory. Day won the event in 2016 (and 2014) but withdrew last year due to his mother’s ill health – so, in a way, the Queenslander will feel as though he is defending the championship. Leishman, meanwhile, has a singles match play record of 6-6-2 and finished 9th here in 2015. Cameron Smith completes the Australian contingent and will make his tournament debut, while Adam Scott will skip the event after finalising his Masters preperations at Bay Hill last week. SERGIO GARCIA VS. TOMMY FLEETWOOD Tommy Fleetwood are Sergio Garcia are two of the PGA Tour’s purest ball-strikers and would put on a stripe show together. England’s Fleetwood is currently second on Tour for strokes gained tee-to-green, while Garcia has been one of the world’s best ball-strikers throughout his entire career. The reigning Race to Dubai champion versus the 2017 Masters champion is a mouth-watering prospect.
