Tiger was pretty loose at times during his final round 69. COVER STORY Tiger: because he has done the unbelievable so many times before, it seems it must be easy for him to simply do it again. Forget about the two full years away from competition. Forget about the fourth back surgery that for many would mean simply walking was a victory. Sensible or not, Tiger carried the hopes of many as he headed to the course Saturday. Now, here’s the other thing about Tiger: he keeps bringing these expectations on himself by doing absurd things that make you believe, against all the best judgement in the world, that he can once again be Tiger Woods circa 2000. And that is sort of what he did over the weekend, playing the final 36 holes in some kind of weird hybrid mode that made it feel a little like watching an episode of the Twilight Zone.
