THE MOMENT WATCH: TIGER WOODS’ FINAL ROUND HIGHLIGHTS Tiger a Cup lock For the second time in a month Tiger Woods made a charge on the final day of a major at last week’s PGA Championship. And while the 14-time major winner didn’t add to his trophy haul at Bellerive, he did confirm once again that he will be a threat in the majors for years to come – as well as all but guaranteeing himself one of Captain Jim Furyk’s picks for the US Ryder Cup team. Woods’ runner-up finish elevated him to 11th from 20th on the standings, just outside the eight automatic selections that are now locked in as: Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, Justin Thomas, Patrick Reed, Bubba Watson, Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler and Webb Simpson. And with the only two players in front of Woods not automatically earning selection – Bryson DeChambeau and Phil Mickelson – both missing the cut at the PGA it is now unfathomable that Tiger will not be a playing Vice Captain in Paris. “I'm just very pleased at what I've done so far and now to be part of the Ryder Cup conversation, going from where I've come from to now in the last year, it's been pretty cool,” Woods said on Sunday.
