Golf Australia Express : GA Express 312
Anthony Quayle BIO Quayle was born in Gove – on the north-east tip of the Northern Territory – and moved to the Gold Coast when he was 14 to attend Hills International College (the same boarding school Jason Day graced between 2002 and 2004). The 24-year-old won the Pacific Northwest Amateur USA in 2015 and has been plying his trade on the Japan Tour throughout 2018, where he has secured playing rights for 2019. Quayle has returned home to Australia to try and win the Order of Merit. He is currently in second place and trails Daniel Nisbet by $28,887.49 with the NSW Open, Australian Open and Australian PGA Championship remaining. “It’s obviously a goal of mine to win the Order of Merit,” Quayle told Golf Australia magazine in October. “I don’t know the age of all the previous winners, but I’d say I would be one of the youngest to win it. It would open doors for me next year and allow me to play some WGCs, PGA Tour events – and obviously the status on the European Tour would be a great kick-start to my career.” PRO-FILE AUSSIE FACT FILE Age: 24. State: QLD. Order of Merit: 2nd.
