AVJENNINGS NSW OPEN JAKE MCLEOD WINNING SCORE: 20-under-par, 268. EQUIPMENT NOTES • McLeod’s win is the 11th straight for Titleist golf balls on the PGA Tour of Australasia, dating back to February this year; the Queenslander using a unique marking on his Pro V1x. McLeod writes the number 73 on his ball, which was his late grandmother’s – one of his biggest supporters before passing away a number of years ago – car number when she raced super sedans. • The number 73 is also stamped on the 24-year-old’s wedges, which are a mixture of the latest and previous Vokey models. Despite having a bounce of 12̊ stamped on his SM6 60̊ wedge, McLeod’s highest lofted club has been significantly ground down in the toe and on the back edge of the sole to suit his eye and needs when opening the club around the green. • DRIVER: Titleist TS3 with 9.5̊ loft, fitted with Fujikura Speeder 661 Evolution IV X shaft. • 3-WOOD: Titleist 917 F2 with 16.5̊ loft, with Mitsubishi Chemical Diamana BF 80 TX shaft. • UTILITY IRON: Titleist 718 T-MB (3-iron), with Mitsubishi Chemical Tensei 90HY X shaft. • IRONS: Titleist 718 AP2 (4-iron to pitching wedge), with Nippon N.S.
