Golf Australia Express : GA Express 318
COVER JAKE MCLEOD The Queenslander announced himself to the European Tour last week, opening with a five-under 65 at the Saudi International in what was his first round as a full member of the circuit. McLeod, who won the 2018 Australian Order of Merit, eventually finished T34 with rounds of 65-70-73-68. The 24-year-old grew up playing alongside PGA Tour star Cameron Smith – and he will return to Barwon Heads (where he was runner-up in 2017) a vastly improved player than he was when he missed the cut here last year. GEORGIA HALL The reigning Women’s British Open champion earnt her second professional victory at this event in 2016 and was tied third in her quasi title defence when she returned to 13th Beach for the first time last year. As one of the rising stars of women’s world golf, Hall is absolutely one of the hot favourites to take out this year’s event, especially after the withdrawal of Canadian star Brooke Henderson. The 22-year-old has already risen to World No.8 and will take the power of beating on the links-like courses she so clearly enjoys.
