Golf Australia Express : GA Express 319
THE S cotsman David Law and Frenchwoman Celine Boutier walked away from 13th Beach as the 2019 Vic Open champions at the weekend. But three other players combined to produce another storyline of similar worth during the third round at Barwon Heads. After the second-round cut left exactly 76 women and 80 men, the tri-sanctioned event was faced with a dilemma to create three-person groups for Saturday’s play. ANOTHER STEP FORWARD The dilemma was short lived, however, with the European, LPGA and Australasian Tours convening and deciding to group Manon De Roey of Belgium with two men – Gavin Moynihan and Dale Williamson – for the third round of the progressive tournament. “I was paired with two guys … It was fine … It worked out perfect,” De Roey said. “I hope for the future it will happen more.”
