COVER JIN YOUNG KO The defending champion and reigning Rookie of the Year was immense in her debut season on Tour, collecting two victories and 13 top-10s in her 24 made cuts from 25 starts. Ko, who has risen to No.10 on the world ranking, went wire-to-wire in this event at Kooyonga last year and will once again begin her season in the ‘City of Churches’ as she looks to become the first player to successfully defend the Patricia Bridges Bowl since Yani Tseng went back-to-back in 2010/11. The South Korean mightn’t possess an enormous amount of power off the tee – finishing 77th on Tour for her 252.41-yard driving average last season – but she is incredibly accurate ... Ko managed to find over 85 percent of fairways and hit 77 percent greens in regulation throughout 2018, for which she was ranked second and first respectively. The 23-year-old’s ability to position herself and find the correct playing lines should once again serve her well this week ... Something that is further emphasised when you look at the tacticians who found themselves inside the top-three in 2016 when this event last visited The Grange: Haru Nomura, Lydia Ko and Karrie Webb.
