Golf Australia Express : Issue 8
LIST THE THE CHARACTER Christina Kim AMERICAN CHRISTINA Kim loves to have fun. Oh, and this little birdie- chaser loves to Tweet. The 27-year-old is well-known for her animated style of play, flamboyant dress, and outgoing personality. The Californian has only won twice on the LPGA Tour in eight years—and she’s never finished inside the top 10 on the money list—but as one of golf’s most vocal and visible characters she’s definitely making an indelible mark. In 2009, Kim was miked up during the first two rounds of the LPGA Championship. It’s clear the tour recognises how marketable this personality is to promote the game. In 2010 she published a warts-and-all autobiography, Swinging from My Heels, where she dishes all on life, love and the other L-word on the LPGA Tour. What could that be? Adding some spice to an often clinical golf tour, her nickname Kookie might not quite sum her up correctly. We prefer Cookie, because this is a smart one.
