Golf Australia Express : Issue 12
CRISTIE KERR, 33, deserves No.1 billing. The two-time major winner is the highest ranked American in golf and is second on the 2011 LPGA Tour money list. Though yet to win this year, Kerr’s stats will intimidate her opposition. She leads the LPGA’s GIR putting average. She’s second in scoring average, total birdies and rounds in the 60s. And she’s had good form head-to- head, with a runner-up finish at the Sybase Match Play Championship in May. ENGLAND’S MELISSA Reid will make her Solheim Cup debut as European points list leader. The 2008 LET Rookie of the Year has two career victories including the 2011 Deloitte Ladies Open in Holland. The 23-year-old knows Killeen Castle well. She finished third at 11-under in this year’s Ladies Irish Open. The blonde bombshell certainly has plenty of game. Third on the LET money list is proof of this. But a lack of Solheim experience could hurt her chances. CRISTIE KERR MELISSA REID WORLD RANKING: 33 SOLHEIM CUP DEBUT WORLD RANKING: 3 6TH SOLHEIM CUP (RECORD: 9W, 9L, 2 HALVES) NUMBER RANKS 1
