Finishes T10 at the WGC-Cadillac Championship and says he’s making good progress with new coach, Foley. Shoots 10-under at The Masters in a tie for 4th, four shots behind winner Charl Schwartzel. After returning from a month-long injury layoff, Woods pulls out of THE Players with nagging leg pain. He was 6-over after 9 holes when he withdrew. Woods announces on his website he is firing longtime caddie Steve Williams. The Kiwi was TW’s bagman since 1999, teaming up for 13 of Woods’ 14 major championships. Williams voices his upset publicly. Tiger drops out of the top 10, down No.15 in world rankings and headed further south. Signs his first sponsorship deal since Dec ’09 scandal broke. Kowa Company, based in Nagoya, Japan, announces in a press release Woods would spruik a heat-rub intended to relieve muscle and joint pain. Woods thrust himself back into the spotlight—again for the wrong reasons— when he spat on the 12th green at the Dubai Desert Classic. Woods was fined an undisclosed sum by the European Tour.
