Dec. 12, 2002 Woods has surgery to remove fluid around the anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee. He returns 10 weeks later to win the Buick Invitational. July 2007 While running on a golf course, TW ruptures the anterior cruciate ligament in his left. He still wins five of his last six tournaments, including the PGA Championship. April 15, 2008 After finishing runner-up at the Masters he goes under the knife again for arthroscopic surgery on his left knee to repair damaged cartilage. Against recommendations, he chooses not to have the ligament repaired so he can recover in time to play the other majors. June 2008 Woods ignores doctors’ orders to miss the US Open due to two stress fractures in his left tibia. He chooses to play the major at Torrey Pines and despite writhing in pain after nearly every shot, goes on to carry out one of the most inspirational wins in golf history. June 24, 2008 Woods goes in for reconstructive surgery on the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee eight days after his epic US Open win. He misses eight months of golf. December 2008 Ruptures the Achilles’ tendon in his right leg while rehabilitating from his ACL reconstructive surgery. May 9, 2010 Woods withdraws from the Players Championship early in the final round with a neck injury. While he said he believed it was a slipped disk, it turns out to be less serious. Dec. 11, 2010 Woods has a cortisone injection in his right ankle because of nagging pain in his Achilles. April 26, 2011 After Round 3 of The Masters, TW reveals he has suffered a minor sprain in his medial ligaments in his left knee and a minor strain of his left Achilles. May 12, 2011 For the second year in a row, Woods withdraws from The Players, this time after shooting a 42 on the front nine citing a dodgy knee and Achilles soreness as the culprit March 11, 2012 Woods withdraws from the final round of the WGC- Cadillac Championship at Doral after just 11 holes.
