Golf Australia Express : Issue 30-The Masters
...making this complex game simple TIP THE 1) Grab a note from your wallet ($10 will do fine) and place it on the sand with your ball in the middle of the note. 2) Set up with your feet slightly open to the target and your ball slightly forward. 3) The idea is to ignore the ball and focus on hitting the note—or "splashing" it—out of the bunker. 4) Now hinge your wrists and play your shot, remembering to accelerate through the sand (really splash that note out). The ball will come out softly as if it were on a cushion, and your mates will be wondering just how much you've spent on golf lessons. FINAL WORD Once you get the concept that you don't "hit" your ball out of the bunker but rather "splash" the sand out, your play from this tricky hazard will improve no end.
