Golf Australia Express : Issue 31
STAT THE THE NUMBERS DON’T LIE... SMACK BANG in the heart of Augusta National’s ‘Amen Corner’ sits a usually difficult par-3 named Golden Bell. It’s always proved to be more than a handful for those who confronted it. Coming into this year’s Masters, GB played at a 3.30 average. This 155-yard beauty guarded by Rae’s Creek was ranked Augusta’s second hardest hole. But due to either favourable conditions or better course management by the players, GB dished up 59 birdies over the week, played close to par at 3.06 and slipped to Augusta’s 13th most difficult hole.
