Golf Australia Express : Issue 32
5 Steps to (Un)Fit Golf FIT NOT SO FIT FIT vs FAT 1We know how important it is to stay hydrated so be sure to have a few ales during your round. (What? There’s water in beer). Our boy Pettersson subscribes to that theory also. 2Chocolate contains lots of energy. Eat three Mars bars—one each 6-hole stretch—to get you through the round. If for some reason you develop a headache, slam down a pie and sauce for good measure. 3Don’t be lazy when driving your cart. You have two feet, so use them both. Alternate feet on the accelerator and brake to give your legs that ultimate 4-hour workout. 4Warming up on the range only drains vital energy leaving you more prone to injury on course. Instead, use the first 3 holes as your warm-up and start counting strokes from the fourth. You’ll be amazed at how it will help your scores, too. 5Being jittery with a club in your hand can only help your game (just ask Masters champ Bubba Watson). A couple of espressos pre- tee off should do the trick. OTG
