Golf Australia Express : Issue 36
SAY WHAT? LETTER OF THE WEEK IITWAS GREAT to see golf’s Mr Nice Guy Matt Kuchar take out the Players on Sunday. He must have a pretty strong mindset and immense willpower to endure a round playing with Kevin Na. Maybe all that smiling helps? WITH INTEREST I READ the letter published in Issue 35 that suggested you have had a Rickie Fowler focus. Well we love Rickie in our house with my two kids now taking an interest in golf, which is in part due to the entertainment Rickie provides. Our family can now look ahead to many fun days on the course. Even my husband’s showing an interest as well. At least in golf anyway. — Christina R, via email GEEZ THIS SEASON on Tour has been enthralling. We’ve seen young ones Jessica Korda, Rory McIlroy, Rickie Fowler and John Huh along with old timers like Phil Mickelson and Steve Stricker claim titles. Then there’s the proposed comeback of Tiger Woods and to top it off the emotional win by Bubba at the Masters. And to think we’re only mid-way through. I can’t wait for the next few months to unravel, with a stretch of the game’s biggest events still to come and not one golfer super- dominant (except Yani Tseng of course) all us golf fans are sure in for a big major season ahead. —Mark H, via email I’M ON CLOUD nine at the moment and after exhausting all my friends to tell them I scored my first hole-in-one on Sunday I thought I’d drop you guys a note, too. It wasn’t pretty mind you, with the thinned 7-iron tracing through the air like a bullet smacking into the flagpole and falling into the cup. But who cares—the No.1 on the scorecard was bloody beautiful.—Gerrard F, via email THE LETTER OF THE WEEK WINNER RECEIVES A DOZEN DIXON GOLF EARTH BALLS VALUED AT $49.95 —Andy M, via email TELL US YOUR THOUGHTS
