G REG ‘SNAKE’ CHALMERS HAS been known to drain a putt or two in his day. After all, the Australian lefty’s moniker is not of his surname alone. If you weighed up the strengths of his game the scales would tip strongly towards his prowess on the short grass. The two-time Australian Open winner leads the PGA Tour for the longest current streak without a 3-putt. His charmed run of 166 holes without carding a Moving Up: Greg Chalmers STAT: Streak without a 3-putt 166 flatstick faux pas has returned the 38-year-old some solid performances. Chalmers finished T17 at last week’s AT&T National and T37 at the Travelers a week earlier. The current streak is just three holes shy of Chalmers best (169) but still a fair way from Luke Donald’s 2011 effort of 449 holes without a single three-putt.
