Golf Australia Express : Issue 47
OUR PICK I T’S HARD NOT TO like Tiger Woods’ chances this week in Ohio. The Striped One has feasted on the Bridgestone Invitational in the past, winning seven titles in just 12 starts. That includes twice snaring a hat-trick of wins—1999-2001 and 2005-2007. In fact, Woods didn’t finish worse than fourth in his first 10 outings. And if his liking for the Firestone track alone isn’t enough to get the nod, then his form this season surely is. With three wins from 13 events, Woods leads the PGA Tour money list and FedEx Cup tally and he’s already clawed his way back to the world No.2 ranking. An eighth Bridgestone Invitational will inch Tiger closer to Sam Snead’s record 82 PGA Tour wins and even closer to completing his comeback to the world No.1 ranking. Who’s betting against him?
