Golf Australia Express : Issue 49
Moving Up: George McNeill STAT: Overall Improvement NUMBERS DON’T LIE... STAT THE A MERICAN GEORGE MCNEILL is hardly a household name in the United States let alone the rest of the world. But the 36-year-old Florida native has come a long way in his career. Winning a second Tour title in March at the Puerto Rico Open ahead of rising Japanese star Ryo Ishikawa, McNeill stamped his return into the winner's circle for the first time in more than five years. McNeill is an old school golfer—a tireless worker, a PGA Tour 'course manager' if you will. For a while that term was closer to his job title having left the tour circuit in 2005 to work as an assistant pro in Florida. He returned to full-time golf in 2006 and earned his PGA Tour card in 2007. Since then it's been hard work grinding on golf's most competitive Tour. But as his 2012 stats show, McNeill looks to have found some overall consistency in his game. Check out the video left to see exactly what that means. OTG MCNEILL: Tee to Green
