Golf Australia Express : Summer of Golf 2012-13
DO YOU UNDERSTAND HOW THE FEDEX CUP PLAYOFFS SERIES WORKS? TELL US YOUR THOUGHTS JUSTIN ROSE PLAYERS J USTIN ROSE BURST ONTO the scene as a 17-year-old finishing fourth at The Open Championship in 1998. Fourteen years on and that budding teenage golfer had blossomed into one of the world’s finest golfers, with 11 career titles to his name. His most recent win came at the WGC-Cadillac Championship, where his one-shot victory over Bubba Watson catapulted him back inside the world top 10 rankings. Rose’s 2012 season has been a pretty sweet one. In August, he fired a final round 66 at Kiawah Island to jump 22 places and finish in a tie for third at the PGA Championship—a career-best finish at a major. He was a key member of Europe’s recent history-making Ryder Cup team, overrunning Phil Mickelson in the singles on the back of an extremely hot putter. His chances of grabbing an Australian Open title are far from prickly when you consider he won the Australian Masters in 2006. Rose will definitely be one player with a bunch of followers at The Lakes.OTG
