Golf Australia Express : Summer of Golf 2012-13
Victorian PGA Championship Victorian Open WHEN: January 17-20, 2013 WHERE: Forest Resort, Creswick, VIC PRIZE PURSE: TBC PAR: 71 COURSE LENGTH: 6300m WHEN: February 21-24, 2013 WHERE: Thirteenth Beach Golf Links (Beach Course) Barwon Heads VIC PRIZE PURSE: TBC PAR: 72 COURSE LENGTH: 6410m SNAPSHOT: WHAT BETTER WAY TO finish off the summer season than with a final romp at the beach? And that's exactly what what the PGA Tour of Australasia is doing, moving the Victorian Open down to Barwon Heads at one of the state's best tracks. Ironically enough, players will need a bit of luck at the beautiful Thirteenth Beach where weather can play a large part in determining a good or forgetable round. OTG SNAPSHOT: FOR THE SECOND CONSECUTIVE year the Victorian PGA Championship will be held at the tranquil Forest Resort. But peace at the unforgiving Creswick track will be hard to find for a battery of local and international players. Kiwi defender Gareth Paddison is likely to return to defend the title he narrowly grasped in 2012 ahead of a rampaging Leighton Lyle in the final round. If the 2013 instalment turns out anything like the last staging, this is one country trek you'd be silly not to make.
