Golf Australia Express : April 2013-The Masters
MASTERS MAGIC ED’S WELCOME EDITOR-IN-CHIEF Damian Shutie firstname.lastname@example.org EDITORIAL TEAM Mark Allen Adrian Ballantyne Will Hone Damian Shutie INSTRUCTIONAL EDITOR Mark Allen CONTACT US EDITORIAL - email@example.com ADVERTISING - firstname.lastname@example.org OTG Mag is produced and published by OTG Media Pty. Ltd © 2013 All Rights Reserved TAKE A DEEP BREATH. Can you smell that? It's the waft of azaleas mixed with freshly cut grass. It's the smell of immortality. It's the smell of Masters Month. The year's first major is again upon us, and with it marks for many--including me-- the beginning of the real golf season. Despite all the pomp and ceremony around the annual Augusta pilgrimage, there's a real magical, mystical aura surrounding this prestigious event. The magnificently manicured greens and fairways of Augusta National have featured in most golfers' dreams at some point. And if the thought of teeing it up at The Masters wasn't enough, there have been more moments over the years to get the hairs on the back of your neck standing stiff than at any other tournament in golf. Jack. Arnie. Seve. Tiger. Phil. The list of green jacket winners is as impressive as any other. One thing we keep being reminded of each year is the frustrating fact that no Australian golfer has ever won The Masters. Greg Norman's '96 choke continues to haunt us. And like every other year, we again ask, 'Will this be our time?' Never fear, whether one of the handful of Aussies playing in this month's major ultimately wins the title should not be our main focus. There's a whole lot more to The Masters--an alphabet, in fact- - that makes it special. You'll find the A-Z Guide to Augusta inside this Masters special. Mark Allen lets us in on what he loves about Augusta in this month's 'Marco's Muse'; we take a look back at some highs and lows from the infamous Amen Corner; and we even throw you a chance to get your hands on an incredibly rare TaylorMade Masters-inspired staff bag thanks to the kind lads at The House of Golf. This month is all about The Masters. Can't wait to sit up bleary-eyed and watch the best in the world battle it out for a gaudy jacket, then head out for a round at Australia's Augusta--Bonville Golf Resort--for the inaugural OTG Masters. This is going to be one helluva fun month. And I'm sure plenty of you will be green with envy reading about it. See you on the green.
