EVEN THOUGH playing Augusta National one day is a dream most of us share, no matter how you look at it,tackling the (in)famous Amen Corner could still be a nightmare experience. Yet like a horror film junkie craving to be scared stiff, most golfers on the planet would give their right arm to experience the horror of a blowout along this stretch of holes.(Greg Norman excluded.) Amen Corner might appear visually stunningly, but many of the game's best have come unstuck here. This stretch has been the turning point––whether for good or bad––for numerous golfers over the years. Sure it's pretty. Pretty bloody difficult. OTG Visually menacing? Not even a little bit.
